Sudhir Machinery Store

Sudhir Machinery Store is on Railway Road. It is an old street and we have been part of it for a long time. The shop is filled with all kinds of mechanical parts, motors, and tools. When you walk in, you will notice the smell of machine oil right away. It is a smell I have grown used to over the years. We have shelves reaching all the way to the ceiling. Most of the time, I am the one climbing the ladder to get something down for a customer. Railway Road is always busy because of the trains and the station nearby. You can hear the whistles and the rumbling all day long. It is a good spot because people coming from the villages can find us easily. We don't do much advertising. People just know that Sudhir has the parts they need for their water pumps or tractors. Sometimes someone brings in a part that is so rusted you can barely tell what it was, and we try to find a match. It is a lot of searching through old catalogs and boxes. I keep a small stove in the back for making tea. That is where we sit when there are no customers. It is just a simple machinery store, nothing more. We open up at nine and stay until the sun goes down and the street lights come on. Usually, by the time we close, my hands are quite dirty from handling the iron and steel.
