Guru Nanak Auto Enterprises Ltd.

We are out here in Vpo Bundala, right on the G. T. Road near Jamalpur in Phagwara. If you drive this way, you know how the trucks are always rumbling past our front door. Guru Nanak Auto Enterprises Ltd. has been at this spot for years now. The shop is usually covered in a bit of dust because of the heavy road traffic, but that’s just how it is. We work on auto parts and engines all day long. Most mornings I have grease under my fingernails by ten o'clock. It’s hard work and the sun gets pretty hot in the afternoons. We have a small fan that tries its best but usually just moves the hot air around the room. People stop by when they have trouble with their vehicles on the long drive. We know all the local guys from the village too. They often come in for a chat or to borrow a tool when they are fixing something at home. It isn’t a corporate showroom with glass walls and fancy lights. It’s a workshop with iron tools and old parts sitting in the corners. We’ve grown up around here and seen Phagwara change quite a bit over the decades. The G.T. Road is much busier now than when we first started. We just keep our heads down and do the work that comes in. Sometimes it’s a busy day with three trucks waiting, other times it’s just us cleaning the wrenches.
