G. R. Granites

At No. 86 on Pandian Street, you will find G. R. Granites. We are just off Bhavani Road, which is always packed with people and vehicles. It’s a busy part of the area, and we’ve been part of it for a long time. Our shop isn't very large, but we pack it full of granite slabs of all different colors. Most of the time, we are busy loading or unloading trucks that come in from the quarries. It’s a noisy job, and Pandian Street is already quite loud, so we fit right in. We don't have a fancy showroom with air conditioning. It’s just an open yard where you can see the stone in the natural light. We think that’s better anyway because you see the real color of the granite. The guys who work here have been doing this for years, so they know how to move the heavy slabs without breaking them, which is harder than it looks. We get a lot of local builders and homeowners coming by. They usually know what they want, so we just help them find the right piece. We don't do any big sales talk. We just show the stone and let people decide. It’s a simple way of doing things, but it’s worked for us so far. We just stay focused on the work at hand and try to keep the yard as organized as possible. Being on Bhavani Road means there is always something going on outside our door.
