Federal Farm

You can find us at number 32 in the Perumpilavu Market Area. Being right in the middle of the market means there is always a lot of activity around us. It is a pretty noisy place, especially on the main market days when there is a lot of shouting and moving of goods. We handle products that come from the farms, mostly things that are brought in fresh from the fields nearby. It involves a lot of hard work, like moving heavy sacks and wooden crates all through the day. The building we are in is quite old and it has that particular smell of grain and dry earth that you only find in places like this. We do not have a proper office, just a small desk in the corner where we keep our notebooks and pens. Most of our time is spent out on the main floor dealing with the produce and the people. It can get really muddy when it rains because so many people are walking in and out. We know most of the farmers who bring their crops to us. It is a very traditional way of doing business. We do not use any high-tech equipment, just some old scales and a bit of patience. We drink a lot of tea to keep ourselves going. It is not a clean or quiet job, but it is what we know.
