Kadavil Electro Mechanical Industries

Kadavil Electro Mechanical Industries is out in Mudickal. It is a bit away from the main city buzz, which suits us just fine. The workshop is where we spend most of our hours, surrounded by parts and tools that have been here for years. We started this place because it’s where we live and it made sense to work close to home. The floor is concrete and often has a bit of oil or grease on it by the end of the shift, but that’s just part of the job. We don’t have any receptionists or big glass windows. Usually, you’ll find us in our work clothes, probably fixing something or checking some components. Mudickal is a quiet enough place, though the sound of the machines can get pretty loud during the day. We take our lunch breaks together under the shade when it’s hot. There’s always something that needs doing, whether it’s cleaning the lathes or sorting out the inventory in the back room. We don’t spend much time on the computer unless we really have to. Most of what we know is just from doing the work every day for a long time. It’s a practical way to earn a living, and we’ve gotten used to the routine of it all. We don’t really think about it much, we just show up and do what needs to be done before heading home. Sometimes the rain hits the metal roof so hard we can't hear ourselves talk.
