Shoranur is famous for the big railway junction, but if you head over to Kollappully, that’s where you’ll find our college. We are in Kerala, 679122. The area around Kollappully is quite green, as you’d expect for this part of the country, and it feels a bit more relaxed than the busy station area. The college is run by a trust, and the building reflects that—it’s solid and functional without any unnecessary decorations. We have students coming in from all over the Shoranur area. Some take the bus and others walk from the nearby houses. The rain here in Kerala can be very heavy, so the campus has to deal with a lot of water during the monsoon months. We spend a lot of time just maintaining the grounds and making sure the classrooms are ready for use. It’s not a very loud place, except when the students are out on their breaks. The local community in Kollappully is used to having the college here. We don't have any fancy signs or big billboards; the address is well known enough to the people who need to find it. Most of our days are spent just following the schedule and making sure everything is in order. It’s a quiet, steady kind of place to work, and we like the fact that it stays away from the main town’s noise. It just works for us and the students here.
