Peren Pig Producer Company Limited is based out in Jalukie Mhainamtsi. It’s a good spot for what we do because there is enough room for the animals. Our focus is on raising pigs and helping other local farmers do the same. It’s not a fancy business by any means. There is a lot of mud and heavy lifting involved every single day. We use our building to keep records and store the bags of feed we buy together. The roads out here in Peren can get pretty messy when it rains, so we have to plan our transport carefully. We don't have a big office with air conditioning. Most of our time is spent outside or in the sheds. It’s just us and the livestock. We started this company because it’s easier to sell the pigs if we work as a group. Polished speeches about what we do are not our style. We just raise the pigs, feed them well, and get them to market when they are ready. It’s a long day, starting early in the morning and finishing late. We are local people who grew up doing this kind of work. We know the animals and we know the land around here. It’s just a practical way for us to make a living together. We keep things simple and honest.
