Chumu Vandhan Producer Company Limited is right in the middle of Chumukedima Town. Being down here near the plains is a bit different from the hills. It is hotter and the pace of life is a bit faster because we are close to the main road. We are a group of producers who decided to get together to see if we could handle our sales better. The town is growing so fast, and we are right there in the mix of it. We don't have a big fancy storefront or anything like that. Usually, you’ll find us busy with paperwork or talking to the different farmers who bring their stuff in. It’s a bit messy sometimes, especially during the peak season when everything arrives at once. We don't have a professional writer to do our descriptions, so this is just us telling it like it is. We are just trying to make a living from what the land gives us. Some days are good and some days we struggle with the heat or transport issues. That is just the way it goes in this business. We don't promise anything except that we are working hard every day. We are just local people who know the area and the people who live here. Most of our time is spent making sure the produce is moving and that the farmers are getting what they need to keep going for the next season. It is a lot of back and forth between the storage and the market.
