S. S. F. Herbal Export

S. S. F. Herbal Export is situated in the Raja Complex, which is right opposite the New Bus Stand. It’s a very busy area with buses coming and going at all hours. You can hear the conductors shouting and the engines idling from our front door. We spend a lot of time in the back room where we store all the bulk herbs. There are big sacks of leaves, roots, and seeds waiting to be weighed and packed for shipping. The air always smells like a mix of earthy things—sometimes it’s sweet, sometimes it’s a bit bitter. We have scales that we use every day to make sure the bags are the right weight. It’s a lot of heavy lifting, moving those sacks around. We aren't fancy people. We wear comfortable clothes because the work is dusty and we get a bit sweaty moving the inventory. Our office is just a small corner with a table and a couple of chairs. We handle the export paperwork there, mostly on an old laptop that takes a while to start up. People who are waiting for their buses sometimes wander in out of curiosity, and we have to tell them we mostly deal in wholesale. We’ve been in Raja Complex for years now. We know the other shop owners nearby and we often share a coffee in the afternoons. It’s a tough business sometimes, dealing with shipping delays and crop seasons, but it's what we know.
