The Spice Castle

The Spice Castle is located at 65, Moolakadai Junction in Nullatanni. Despite the name, we aren't actually in a castle. It’s just a regular building near the KSRTC bus stand. Being so close to the bus stand means we see a lot of different faces every day. People are always in a hurry to catch their ride, but some stop in to see what we have. It’s a busy, dusty part of town. We spend a lot of our time just keeping the place tidy because of all the traffic outside. Inside, it’s mostly just shelves of spices and a counter. We don't have any big corporate goals or fancy mission statements. We’re just here to sell spices to whoever needs them. The work is mostly weighing, packing, and talking to customers. Some days are incredibly hectic when the buses all arrive at once. Other times, it’s quiet enough to hear the clocks ticking. We don't use any high-tech systems. We write things down in a ledger and use a simple calculator. It’s a bit old-fashioned, but it works for us. We’ve been at this junction for a long time, and we’ve seen the town change around us. The building is a bit worn, but it’s home to us. We just keep doing what we do, day in and day out, without making a big fuss about it.
