Laxmi Bourwell

Laxmi Bourwell is located right beside the checkpost on Rajiv Rahadhari in Shanigaram village. It’s in the Bejjenki Mandal of Karimnagar. If you are driving along the main road, you can’t really miss us. We have the big drilling rigs that we take out to various farms and house sites. Borewell work is quite a task because you never really know what’s under the ground until you start drilling. Sometimes we hit water quickly, and other times it takes a lot longer and we have to go much deeper. The sound of the drill is very loud, and it shakes the ground when it’s running. We spend a lot of our time on the road, moving the truck from one village to another. The pipes are heavy and it takes a lot of effort to get everything set up right. We’ve been working in the Karimnagar area for a long time, so we have a good idea of where the water levels are, though it changes every year. Our boots are always dusty and our clothes get stained with the mud that comes up from the ground. We don’t have a fancy office, just our spot by the checkpost where we keep the trucks and the spare parts. It’s a busy life, especially during the summer months when everyone is worried about their water supply. We just keep going.
