Devi Auto Mobiles

At Devi Auto Mobiles, we spend most of our time at 471, Kadayam Road in Pavoorchatram. It is a busy spot where trucks and cars pass by all day long. The shop isn't much to look at from the outside, but we have what people usually need for their vehicles. We spend our mornings unloading parts and putting them on the racks. It gets hot inside during the afternoon, so we usually have the big fan running at full speed. My hands are usually covered in grease by noon because there is always something to check or move around. We talk to a lot of local drivers who are just passing through or live nearby. Sometimes we have a tea break and sit on the stools near the entrance to watch the traffic go by on the road. We don't have a website; we just rely on people knowing where we are. The shelves are a bit cluttered and it takes a minute to find the exact part sometimes, but we eventually get there. It’s a simple life here in Pavoorchatram, just working every day and dealing with the mechanical side of things. We try to keep the inventory sorted, though it’s a constant battle with the dust from the main road. We don't wear fancy uniforms. We just do our work and go home when the day is done.
