St. Paul Hospital

Being located in Satpuli means we are right in the heart of the hills, and that changes everything about how things work here. St. Paul Hospital is a place that people travel quite a distance to reach, often coming down from the smaller villages higher up in the mountains. The air is clear, but the roads are winding and can be tough in the winter or during the heavy rains. The hospital building itself is a solid, stone-like structure that fits in with the mountain scenery. It is not a modern medical center by any means. The halls are a bit cold, and we have to use heaters quite a bit during the colder months. You will not find any high-tech gadgets or shiny surfaces here. It is all very basic and functional. The staff often has to deal with power cuts or supply trucks being delayed because of the weather conditions on the roads. It takes a certain kind of patience to work and live out here. The waiting area is usually filled with people who have come a long way, so they are often resting or sharing food they brought from home. It is a very human place, where the challenges of the landscape are just a part of every single day. We do not have much, but we have been here for the people of the hills for a long time, and that counts for something in a place like this.
