A2Z Paints

Our shop is located on Kotdwar Road right near the petrol pump. It’s a convenient spot because people often stop for fuel and see us. We’ve been here for a while selling all kinds of paints and supplies. The smell of paint is something you never really lose even after you go home. It’s a long building with shelves that go all the way to the ceiling. I have to use a ladder nearly every hour to get things down for customers. It’s mostly me and my son running the place. We have a small counter where we mix colors and talk to people about their houses. Kotdwar Road gets a lot of trucks and through traffic so it’s always humming with noise. We have a small bench outside where we sit during the quiet hours in the afternoon. Sometimes people just stop by to ask for advice on what shade of blue will look good in a dark room. We try to be helpful but we aren't designers. We just know what we have in stock. The floor is covered in spills from over the years. We don't bother cleaning them because they just add character to the place. It’s a straightforward shop. We open at nine and close when the sun goes down. It’s how we’ve always done it.
