Vaishnaviyash Foundation

We are over at Chanderbani Khalsamohebbewala, at Khushender’s place. That’s where the Vaishnaviyash Foundation runs from. It’s a bit out of the way, which is nice because it’s quiet and we can focus on what we are doing. We aren't a big organization with a lot of money to spend on shiny offices. We just have a few rooms where we keep our stuff and meet up to talk. Most of what we do is just looking out for the people in our community. We started this because we saw a lot of things that needed fixing and decided we might as well be the ones to do it. The road leading to the house is a little bumpy, so you have to be careful if you’re driving. We spend our days mostly organizing small events or helping people with their paperwork. It’s not very glamorous, but it’s real work that needs doing. We don't have any big corporate goals or five-year plans. We just take things one day at a time and see what needs the most attention. Sometimes we have a lot of people coming by, and other days it’s just us and the local cats. We like the pace of life here. It’s a simple setup, and we aren't planning on changing it anytime soon. We just want to be useful to the folks who live around us. That is why we stay here and keep working through the heat and the dust.
