Cafe Coffee Day

We are tucked away in Jandi Chour, in the north part of the village near Kotdwar. It’s a bit different than the big city shops you might see in Delhi or Bangalore. Up here in Uttarakhand, things move a little slower. Our place is where people stop by when they’re traveling through or just need a break from the road. We make coffee, of course, and we have some snacks in the glass case. The air is usually a bit fresher here than down in the plains. We keep the tables wiped down and the floors swept, though some dust always finds its way in. The staff are mostly locals from the nearby area who walk or bike to work. We don't have those fancy digital screens everywhere, just a simple counter and some places to sit. Some mornings it's just us and the sound of the birds outside before the first customers arrive. We see a lot of people who are on their way to the hills. It’s a small operation, really. We spend our time making sure the beans are ready and the milk is cold. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a bit, but that’s just life in the mountains. It's a quiet spot to sit for a while. We aren't trying to be anything more than a place to grab a drink and rest.
