Arihant Foundation

We are based in Muthupet, which is down in the Thiruvarur district. Our office is on Darmar Kovil Street, at number 6. It’s a small building in a quiet part of town. Being a foundation, our work involves a lot of community interaction. We aren't a big corporation with high-rise offices. Instead, we have a simple room where we meet and talk about what needs to be done locally. The street is usually busy with people going to the temple or the market. We spend our days coordinating different activities and talking to people from the nearby villages. It’s a lot of manual record-keeping and local coordination. We don't have a big budget for fancy things, so we use what we have. The furniture is a bit old, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it works for us. People from the area know where to find us if they have questions. It gets very humid here because we are close to the coast, so the ceiling fans are always on full speed. We don't have a mission statement on the wall; we just try to help out with whatever comes our way in the district. It’s a quiet life here, and we just keep doing our part without much noise or publicity. We just want to make sure the work we do actually reaches the people who live right here.
