Shiv Trading Company

Shiv Trading Company is located right at Bhagat Singh Chowk, which is a pretty busy spot in Samana. If you are coming from the Pattran Police Station side, you will see the crowd and the traffic that usually gathers around here. It is one of those places where there is always something happening, with rickshaws honking and people moving between the shops. We operate out of a modest space that is mostly filled with ledgers and stacks of whatever we are trading that week. It is not the kind of place with air conditioning or glass partitions. Instead, we have heavy wooden doors and a lot of paperwork to keep track of. Usually, the day starts with tea from the stall across the road and a look at the delivery schedules. Being near the police station means it’s a familiar landmark for anyone trying to find us for the first time. We spend a lot of our time on the phone or talking to drivers who are bringing in goods. The floor is concrete and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it works for what we do. We have been in this part of Samana for a good bit of time now. The noise from the chowk becomes like background music after a while. We just keep the doors open and get on with the business of moving goods until it is time to lock up for the evening.
