Xpress Travels

Xpress Travels is located right on 19 Pattabhipuram Main Road, very close to the SBI building. It’s a busy spot because everyone going to the bank walks past our door. The office is small with just a couple of desks and a bench for people to sit on while they ask about bus times or train tickets. We have a lot of old calendars on the walls and a computer that takes a long time to start up in the morning. The main road is always full of horns and the sound of rickshaws, so it never really gets quiet here until late at night. Sometimes the phone rings and nobody is there, or someone calls just to ask for directions to the bank. We keep a logbook on the desk to write down all the bookings by hand because it feels safer than just using the machine. The floor is made of old tiles that have some cracks in the corners. During the summer, the small fan on the wall barely does anything to keep the heat out. We usually get tea from the shop across the street twice a day. It is a humble place and we don't try to make it look like those big city agencies. People just come in, get their travel sorted, and go about their day. It’s been this way for quite a few years now.
