Vaetch Wabag Limited

We’re out here in East Champaran, specifically in the Raxaul area. Our setup is at the villa of Md. Alam. It’s a different kind of vibe than the big city offices. Out here in Bihar, things move at their own pace. We work for Vaetch Wabag Limited, focusing on the water projects and technical stuff around the district. The roads can be a bit rough, especially during the monsoon season when everything turns to mud, so we spend a lot of time just trying to get from one site to another. The office is basically a room in the villa with a big table and a few laptops. It’s quiet, mostly, except for the sounds of the village and the birds. We don’t have fancy coffee machines or anything like that; we just drink plenty of water and the occasional cup of strong tea. My colleagues and I have been working in this region for a while, so we know the local layout pretty well. We spend our days coordinating with the crews on the ground. Sometimes we have to travel quite a distance to check on a pump or a pipe. It’s practical work. There isn't much room for being fancy when you're dealing with infrastructure in rural areas. We just try to make sure the systems are running like they should. It’s a lot of responsibility, but we take it one day at a time.
