Usha Martin World School, Patna

Usha Martin World School in Patna is located out near Sohgi More, close to the Sampatchak Market. You have to take the Patna-Gaya Road to get to us, specifically heading towards P.S. Gopalpur on NH-83. It’s a bit away from the main city noise, which is actually quite nice for a school. We have been here for a few years now, watching the area around NH-83 develop. The school grounds are where everything happens. Every morning the buses roll in and the place gets noisy with kids. We don't try to sound like a fancy institution. We are just a local school trying to give the children around here a decent place to learn. The staff lives nearby, and many of the families are from the surrounding markets and villages. It’s a very grounded atmosphere. We deal with the usual school stuff—leaking taps, playground repairs, and organizing classrooms. Our office is right by the entrance where parents come to talk about their kids. We don't have a big corporate board or anything like that. It’s more about the daily routine of teaching and looking after the students. The road outside can get dusty and busy with trucks, but inside the gates, we try to keep things orderly. It’s a lot of responsibility, but we just take it one day at a time. Being near Sampatchak Market means we are part of a growing community, and we like that.
