Our place, UPVCWINDOR FABRICATORS LLP, is tucked away on East Boring Canal Road. You find us right beside Vishnu Place in that lane, inside Agarwal Niketan where Kislay Kishan is. It is a bit of a tight squeeze sometimes when the raw frames arrive. We spend a lot of time measuring things twice because mistakes with windows are a real pain to fix later. The smell of the cutting machines is something you get used to after a week or so. It gets quite loud when the saws are going, so we end up shouting to hear each other over the noise. We have got some old fans that try their best to keep us cool, but they mostly just move the warm air around. The floors are always covered in tiny plastic shavings that we have to sweep up every evening before locking up. Sometimes customers wander in from the main road looking for us, and we have to guide them past the stacks of glass. It is a practical kind of job. We don't have a big showroom with lights. It is just the workshop where we put the frames together and make sure the locks work right. Some days are longer than others when a big order needs to be ready by morning. We just keep our heads down and handle the fabrication piece by piece until the sun goes down.
