If you are looking for the Tution spot run by Akil Ahmad, you have to head down towards Masjid Ghat in Alam Gunj. We are located right there, near the water, and the Post Office at Gulzarbagh is the main landmark most people use to find us. Patna can get very crowded and the streets around the ghat are always full of people moving around, so it’s a busy area to be in. Our space is tucked inside, where it is a bit more shielded from the noise of the market. It is a very local operation. We don't have fancy furniture or air conditioning; we just have some mats or chairs for the students to sit on while they go over their lessons. It gets quite warm in the summer months, but we just open the windows and keep going. The students come from the local families who live around Alam Gunj. We have been part of this community for a long time, so everyone knows the address. It is a simple life, teaching the basics and helping the younger ones with their schoolwork. There is always the sound of the nearby mosque and the general hum of the city in the background. We don't try to be anything we are not. It is just a place for study and keeping the kids focused on their books. We open up every day and wait for the kids to arrive after their chores are done.
