Surendra Kirana

I have been running Surendra Kirana for quite some time now at A-91 in the Housing Colony. It is located in Lohiya Nagar, which is part of Kankarbagh here in Patna. The thing about the spot is that the shop is right in front of the Panchshiv Mandir. In the mornings, I can hear the bells ringing and see people walking over for their prayers. It makes the start of the day feel peaceful. My shop is not very big, but it is packed with stuff. I have bags of grains stacked up and rows of small items that people always seem to run out of at home. Dealing with the heat in Patna is always a challenge, especially in the afternoons when the sun hits the front of the store. I usually sit on my wooden stool and wait for the evening rush. The housing colony is a good place because everyone knows everyone else. I see the same faces every day, which is nice. Sometimes the supply truck is late and I have to explain to customers why I don't have a specific brand of oil or soap. It’s just how life is in a kirana shop. I spend my time writing down accounts in a ledger and dusting the glass jars. It is a simple life, but it keeps me busy from morning until late at night. The temple across the street is a good landmark for anyone looking for us.
