Sunder General Store

If you are heading down Patna Khagaul Road, you will find us right across from the Axis Bank near the Anisabad Golmber. This part of Patna is always moving, and Sunder General Store is right in the middle of all that noise and dust. The shop is tucked into a corner, and we have things piled up pretty high because there isn't much floor space. We carry everything from light bulbs to washing powder and local snacks. The entrance is a bit narrow, and sometimes boxes of new stock sit near the door for a day or two until I find time to move them. I don't have a team of people working here; it is mostly just me and a helper who comes in the afternoons. We see a lot of people who are just passing through the Golmber area and need something quick. The floor is old tiles that have faded over time, and the lighting isn't the brightest, but you can find what you need if you look around. I know the habits of the regulars who live in the lanes behind the main road. They don't come for a shopping experience; they just want their tea leaves or a new lock for their gate. It's a very straightforward way to earn a living. The traffic outside never really stops until very late at night, which is when I finally pull down the shutter and head home.
