Sumitra Enterprises

This business, Sumitra Enterprises, is located in our village of Nijampur, which falls under Shorampur and Janipur in Patna. It started with my father, Indra Nath Paswan, and we have kept it running here ever since. Being out in the village is different than being in the main city of Patna. Things move a bit slower, and we know everyone who walks through the door. We handle various tasks depending on what the local people need at the time. It is a family thing, so there is always someone around to help out, whether it is my brothers or our cousins. The address might look long because of the way village post offices work, but it is actually a simple place to find once you get to Shorampur. We don’t have a big corporate structure or anything like that. We just open up the shop in the morning and see what the day brings. Sometimes we are busy with supplies, other times it is quiet and we just sit and talk with neighbors. The roads around here can get a bit difficult during the rainy season, so we have to plan our transport carefully. We take pride in just being a local name that people can trust. There aren't any big signs or advertisements. We just do our work and hope it helps the local community. It is a basic setup, but it has been enough for us for many years.
