Down in Sultanganj, we’ve got our furniture shop set up. It’s a pretty straightforward place. We have tables, chairs, and cupboards mostly. People around here know us because we’ve been in this neighborhood for a long time. The workshop gets dusty, and there’s always the sound of sawing or hammering going on in the back. We don’t do those high-end designer things you see in magazines. We make stuff that stays in a house for twenty years and doesn't fall apart when you move it. A lot of our day is spent moving heavy wood around or talking to people about what size bed will actually fit in their room. Sultanganj is a lively area, so there’s always someone stopping by to ask a question or check a price. We don’t have a fancy showroom with bright lights. It’s just a floor full of furniture and us. Sometimes we’re short-staffed, so things might take a bit longer, but we try to be fair about it. Wood is expensive these days, so we have to be careful with how we cut it. It’s a small team here, just a few of us who know how to handle tools. We like the smell of sawdust and the feeling of finishing a solid piece of work. If you need a stool or a big wardrobe, we probably have something that works for you. It's just a regular local shop making things that people actually use in their daily lives.
