Subodh Kirana

Subodh Kirana is located along the Digha Ghat area, specifically on Banasghat Road. If you walk down this way, you will see our shop tucked between some other local spots. It is a simple place with a lot of stuff packed into every corner. We carry the usual things like flour, different pulses, and spices that people need every day. The shop has been here for a while, and the walls show it a bit, but that doesn't matter much when you just need to grab some tea leaves or a bar of soap. Morning times are usually the loudest with the traffic passing by toward the ghat. We spend a good portion of the day weighing out items or helping someone find a specific brand of detergent they like. It’s mostly just one or two of us behind the counter, trying to keep things organized. The floor is concrete and gets a bit worn down from people coming in and out. We don’t do any big advertising or anything like that. People just know we are here. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we sit in the shade of the doorway for a bit. It is a quiet kind of work most of the time. We try to keep the staples in stock so nobody has to go too far to find what they need for dinner. It’s just a small business trying to keep up with the daily needs of the neighborhood.
