Shankar Skin Clinic

Shankar Skin Clinic is located on Makhania Kuan Road in Patna. This is a busy stretch of road, often dusty and full of rickshaws and people heading to the market. We have a simple shopfront that leads into our waiting area and the small rooms where we see patients. The walls are painted a light blue, though they could probably use a fresh coat one of these days. We deal with all sorts of skin problems that people in Patna face, like rashes from the heat or allergies from the dust. It is not a glamorous place with soft lighting or music; it is just a clinic with a desk, some chairs, and a lot of medical supplies. I spend a lot of my time sitting at the front, talking to the people who walk in off Makhania Kuan Road. We keep the windows shut to keep the noise out, but you can still hear the honking from the street. Our records are mostly kept in hand-written books because that’s how we have always done it. We don't have a website with fancy photos or anything like that. People come to us because they know we are here and we have been here for a while. It is a straightforward operation where we just try to help people with their skin issues so they can get back to their day.
