Sampurn Basket

Our little store is in New Jakkanpur right near Chitragupta Marg. It is a busy street and there is always someone shouting or a horn honking outside. We called it Sampurn Basket because we try to keep a bit of everything on the shelves. It’s a tight fit and you have to watch your head near the back storage area. My wife spends her afternoons here helping me sort through the new deliveries. The floor is just plain concrete and it’s seen a lot of wear over the years. We have a small radio that plays local songs while we work. It helps pass the time when things are slow. We don’t have any fancy displays or bright lights like the big malls. We just put the stuff on the shelves where it fits. Most of our customers are people from the houses around here who just need a few things for dinner. We know their kids and we’ve watched them grow up. Sometimes the delivery trucks can't get down the narrow lane so we have to carry the crates by hand from the main road. It’s hard work but it keeps us fit. We aren't looking to become a giant company or anything. We just like having our own place where we can work at our own pace. It feels good to be part of the community and we plan to stay here as long as we can.
