Sagar General Store

Our shop, Sagar General Store, is right near the Mithapur Bus Stop in the Boring Road area of Patna. It’s a very busy spot because of the buses and the people moving towards Vaishali Kamitee. We’ve been here for a good number of years now. Since we are near a major bus stop, we get a lot of travelers stopping in for quick things like water, biscuits, or tobacco. We also serve the families living around Boring Road who need their daily groceries. The shop is always a bit hectic. There are boxes stacked in the aisles and the fan is always running at full speed to deal with the Patna heat. We aren't a big chain store, just a local family-run business. Sometimes the traffic outside gets so loud we have to shout a bit to be heard over the horns. We don't have any uniforms or corporate rules. We just show up, open the locks, and start serving people. My brother and I manage the shifts throughout the week. It can be tiring standing all day, but we like the work. We know which brands our regulars prefer and we try to keep those in stock. The shop isn't perfectly organized, but it has everything a person might suddenly realize they ran out of at home. We just keep things moving and try to be useful to the neighborhood. It’s a lot of work but it is what we have always done here.
