Saanvika Stores

Our place, Saanvika Stores, is located in A.G. Colony, which is part of Ashiana Nagar in Patna. It’s a typical neighborhood shop where you can find most of the things you need for your kitchen or house. We have rows of shelves filled with soaps, detergents, spices, and packaged food. The building is just a standard construction and we occupy a small space on the ground floor. Patna can get very crowded, but A.G. Colony is a bit more settled than the main city areas. We see the same faces every day, which is nice. Most of the work involves keeping the shelves stocked and dealing with the vendors who bring the goods. Sometimes the inventory gets a bit overwhelming and we have piles of boxes in the corner for a day or two. We use a simple ledger for our accounts. The lighting is just a couple of tube lights that we switch on when it gets dark. There isn’t much room to walk around if more than three people are inside at once. We don't have a fancy sign, just the name painted above the door. It’s a lot of standing around and waiting for customers, especially during the quiet hours of the afternoon. We try to keep a bit of everything so people don't have to go all the way to the main market. It's a basic store run by regular people who live right here in the city. Every evening we close up and head home.
