Rishi General Store

Rishi General Store is over in Magistrate Colony on Ashiana Road in Patna. It is a busy part of Ashiana Nagar and we get a lot of foot traffic from the people living in the apartments around here. The shop stays open pretty late most nights because that is when everyone finishes work and remembers they forgot to buy milk or eggs. We have stuff crammed into every corner, from brooms leaning against the wall to stacks of biscuit boxes near the ceiling. It can be hard to move around when we get a new shipment in because the boxes take up all the floor space for a few hours. I try to keep things tidy but with so many different items like spices, oils, and stationery, it is a constant battle. The counter is usually covered with loose change and a few pens that don't always work. I know most of the people who come in by their names and what they usually buy. It's a simple way to earn a living. The noise from Ashiana Road is constant with the autos and bikes zooming past but you get used to it after a few weeks. We don't do any big advertising or anything like that. People just know we are here and that we usually have what they are looking for in their kitchen pantry or for their kids' school projects without needing to go to the city center.
