We are located near the Mahavir Mandir in Deonagar, which is part of the Naubatpur area. Our building is number 57. We spend most of our time out by the water because fish farming takes a lot of watching. You have to check the water levels and make sure the fish are eating right. It’s a lot of walking around the ponds in the heat. Naubatpur is a bit of a drive from the main Patna town, but it’s a good spot for what we do. We have different kinds of fish, and they all need different things. Some days we are just cleaning out the nets or fixing the edges of the ponds where the soil has washed away. It’s wet work and you usually end up smelling like the pond by the end of the day. We don’t have a big staff, just a few of us who know how to handle the nets and the transport. The market for fish here is decent, so we try to keep things moving. We aren't trying to be the biggest farm around, just a steady one that stays in business. People around Sarasat know where we are if they need to find us. It’s hard work, especially when the weather gets really hot and the water gets low, but we manage. Just a local fish farm doing its thing every day near the temple. We focus on the daily chores and keeping the stock healthy until it's time to sell.
