Prince Tea Company

We’ve been here at L.B Place on Rajendra Path for quite a while now. Most people in Kadamkuna know the spot because of the tea smell that drifts out onto the street every morning. It’s not a fancy place, just a regular shop with bags of tea stacked up and a counter that’s seen better days. My father started things off and now we just keep it going. Some days are really busy with people stopping by for their weekly supply and other times it’s just us sitting here watching the traffic go by. We handle different kinds of tea leaves that come in from the gardens. It takes a lot of work to sort through everything and make sure the quality is okay before it goes into the smaller packets. The building isn't much to look at but it's home to us. We spend most of our daylight hours here, talking to the regulars who have been coming to Prince Tea Company since they were kids. Sometimes the rain makes the road a mess, but the shop stays dry. We don't really do much advertising or anything like that. People just find us or they’ve known about the Rajendra Path location for years. It’s a simple way to make a living and we like being part of the neighborhood. The shelves are always full and there is always something to be done, whether it's weighing leaves or cleaning the floors.
