Prince General Store

The shop is located near Dbs Stone in Bahadurpur, right by the Bazar Samiti in Patna. It is a Prince General Store and we have been in this spot for a while now. Being in Kumhrar means there is always a lot of noise from the trucks and the people working nearby. I usually start my day by checking what got delivered late the night before. The shelves are packed with all sorts of things, from plastic buckets to small packets of shampoo. It can get a bit cramped inside when more than three people come in at once. I try to keep things organized but sometimes the boxes just pile up in the corner. The light in the back flickers a bit, I really should get around to fixing that soon. Most of our customers are locals who live in the lanes behind the main road. They come in for a single pen or a kilo of rice. I don’t use any fancy computers, just a notebook where I scribble down what I owe the wholesalers. It’s a lot of work staying on top of everything, especially when the heat in Patna gets really bad in the summer. I usually keep a bottle of water under the counter. People know me here, and I know which brand of tea they like. It’s just a regular life running a store in a busy bazar area.
