We are based over in the B-Block of Surendra Sushila Complex in Vijay Nagar. It’s a flat, No-101, which is where we handle the paperwork and meetings for the layer farm. Rukanpura is a busy area, but our spot is easy enough to get to. We deal with everything related to layer farming, mostly chickens meant for eggs. It’s not just about the birds themselves but also the stuff they need to stay healthy and productive. We spend most of our time talking to farmers or checking on how things are going on the ground. It’s a lot of logistical work, honestly. Dealing with feed and making sure the temperature is right in the sheds takes up the whole day. We aren't a big corporation with fancy offices; it’s just us working out of this complex. Sometimes the phone doesn't stop ringing and other times it’s quiet enough to actually get some cleaning done. We’ve seen the poultry business change quite a bit in Patna lately. People want eggs that are fresh, so we try to help make that happen by supporting the farms. It’s a lot of back-and-forth travel between the office and the actual sites where the birds are kept. It gets dusty and loud, but that’s just how it is with chickens. We’re just local people trying to keep this business going in our part of the city, even when the market prices go up and down and make things stressful.
