We've been at this spot near Shanti Vihar Apartment for a while now. Salimpur Ahra is a busy part of town, especially being so close to South Gandhi Maidan, so there’s always something happening outside our window. It’s a typical architect’s office, honestly. There are rolls of blueprints everywhere and the desks are usually covered in scales and pens. We spend most of our days sitting here drawing up plans or arguing about where a wall should go. People from around the neighborhood sometimes just walk in to ask about a small renovation or how to get a permit for their house. We don’t have any fancy receptionists or anything like that. If you come by, you’ll probably just see me or one of the guys hunched over a computer. It gets pretty loud during the day because of the traffic near the Maidan, but we’ve gotten used to it. We just try to get the work done and make sure the measurements are right. It’s not always glamorous work, dealing with all the building codes and local regulations, but it keeps us busy. Sometimes we're out on a site getting dusty, and other times we're just here waiting for a printout to finish. It’s just how it is running a small practice in this part of Patna. We know the local soil and the way buildings are put together around here, which helps. Nothing too complicated, just a lot of drafting and talking to contractors on the phone.
