Sarfuddin Flutes

My family has been at this for a long while now. We are located over near Karbala Dargah, right by the Memco Cross Road. People usually find us by looking for the Shaharza Baradari landmark. It is a busy spot on Naroda Road. We mostly just spend our days working with bamboo. Picking the right pieces takes time because not every stick is good enough to make music with. Sometimes the weather makes it hard to dry them properly, but that is just how it goes here. We don't have a big fancy shop or anything like that. It is mostly just us sitting here, cutting and sanding. You can hear the sounds of testing the notes all day long. It gets dusty, and our hands get calloused, but we like the work. If you are coming down Naroda Road, just ask someone where the flute makers are. Most of the neighbors know us. We keep a small stock ready, but often we are just finishing up orders for people who have been waiting. It is not a fast process. We try to keep things simple and just focus on getting the holes lined up right. It is quiet work despite the noise from the road outside. We have been in this same spot for years and don't plan on moving. Just a small local business trying to do things the old way. We use simple tools that have been around for generations. It works for us.
