Nalanda Threads is located in the very busy Patna City area. We are based in Ranipur Kasba, right near the famous Meena Bazar. Md. Shadab Anwar, who is the son of Shahab Uddin, is the one in charge of the daily operations here. If you've ever been to Meena Bazar, you know how loud and crowded it can be, with people everywhere and constant noise. Our building is tucked away in one of those narrow streets, and it is always filled with the smell of old paper and different types of thread. We handle all sorts of threading materials for the local market. It is a family-oriented business, and we don't have any of those fancy corporate structures. We just have shelves and shelves of thread in every color you can imagine. Sometimes the heat in Patna makes it hard to work in the afternoons, so we take a long break and finish up in the evening when it’s cooler. We don't do any big advertising; the people who need thread usually know to come to us or they find us by word of mouth in the bazaar. It is a bit of a squeeze getting everything organized in our small space, but we manage somehow. Shadab is always around to handle things, and we just take each day as it comes. It’s just how things work in this part of Patna.
