Ankur Foundation

Ankur Foundation is located in Bhuwan Plaza, which is right by the Gajadhar Mandir. We are opposite the Makhania Kuan Road on Bari Path, near the Machhuatoli Chowk. This part of town is always buzzing with people going to the temple or the market. Our office is inside the plaza, and it’s a place where we get together to work on our different community projects. It’s not a big space, just a few rooms with some old desks and a lot of files. We spend a lot of our time talking to people from the neighborhood and trying to figure out how we can help with various local issues. Sometimes it feels like there is too much to do and not enough hands, but we do what we can. We don't have a lot of money for decorations or nice carpets, so the office looks a bit plain. We’ve been here at Machhuatoli Chowk for a while and most of the shopkeepers around here know who we are. It’s a busy, noisy area, but that’s where the people are, so that’s where we need to be. We don't really do much advertising; we just talk to folks and word gets around. It is basic, honest work that keeps us busy from morning until evening. We just want to keep helping out where we can in our own small way every day.
