Maa Rukmani Kirana Store And Stationary

You can find our shop in the Laxmi Narayan Market which is part of the Bahadurpur Housing Colony in Patna. We are quite close to the Amarnath Mandir so a lot of people pass by us when they go to the temple. We sell a bit of everything here. On one side of the shop we have the kirana items like dal and rice and spices. On the other side we keep stationary like notebooks and pencils for the school kids. It is a busy mix of customers. In the morning it is usually mothers buying groceries for the day. In the afternoon the students stop by on their way home from school. The shop is not very large so things are stacked quite high. Sometimes we have to use a ladder to reach the boxes on the top shelves. Patna is a crowded city and the market gets very lively in the evenings. We have been running this place for a while and we have seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. There used to be fewer houses around here but now it is very packed. We don't use any modern billing machines or anything. We just calculate everything by hand and give the change. It is an honest living. We try to keep the staples in stock so nobody has to go far for their basic needs. The shop is a bit old but it serves its purpose for the colony.
