Kirana Step

If you go down to Road-11 in Magadh Colony, you’ll see Kirana Step. We are situated quite close to the Medical College, so there is always a mix of students and locals walking around the area. It is a pretty decent neighborhood to work in. The shop itself is tucked into a spot that stays relatively cool even when the sun is beating down on the pavement outside. We started this because we wanted something of our own to manage. It is not a huge operation with hundreds of employees. Usually, it is just a couple of us handling everything from the inventory to the cleaning. The shelves are mostly full, though sometimes we run out of things and have to wait for the next delivery to arrive. We do not have a fancy website or a marketing team telling us what to say. We just talk to the people who come in like they are our neighbors, because most of them are. Road-11 is usually busy in the evenings when everyone is coming home from work. We stay open pretty late most nights just to make sure we have finished all the bookkeeping. It can be tiring, but it is satisfying to see the shutters go down at the end of a long day. We just take things one day at a time here and don't worry too much about being the most polished business in the colony. We just do what we can.
