Keshav Clinic and Nursing Home started out in the village of Daniawan. Kesho Mahto’s place is easy to find because everyone around here knows everyone else. Since it is an OPC, the setup is quite small. We mostly see the local farmers and their families who come over from the Tola. The building itself is not very big, just a few rooms for checking people and a couple of beds for nursing needs. We have been here in Daniawan for a bit of time now. It is quiet most of the time except for the busy market days when the roads get full. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint soon, but that can wait for later. We spend more time talking to our neighbors than we do filling out complicated forms. It is just the way things work in a village like ours. We handle common fevers, small accidents, and regular checkups. If it is something serious, we usually tell them to head into the bigger city. My family has lived in this area forever, so people trust us to tell them the truth about their health. It is not like those big city hospitals with the glass doors and air conditioning everywhere. It is just a brick building with some plastic chairs and basic tools. We keep the doors open early in the morning because that is when people are out and about. It is a long day sometimes, but it feels good.
