Kaushal's Photography

I’ve been doing photography here in Patna for quite some time now. It originally started out as just a small hobby of mine and then it eventually just turned into what people call Kaushal's Photography. I don't have a massive professional studio with expensive lights and backdrops; I mostly just go out to where the people are and take photos there. Patna has some really good spots for photos if you know where to look, but mostly I’m just trying to capture life as it happens naturally. I spend a lot of my time behind the lens and then even more time sitting at my small computer looking through all the shots I took. It’s a lot of tedious work that most people never really see. My camera is getting a bit old these days, but it still takes a perfectly good picture if you know how to use it. I don't like to use a lot of fancy editing tricks or filters. I just like the photos to look like how things actually were when I snapped the shutter. Whether it's a small family gathering or just a simple portrait, I try to keep the whole process very simple. People in Patna know me by now, and I get almost all of my work just by someone telling their cousin or a friend about me. I don't have a big staff of assistants, it’s mostly just me carrying my heavy gear around from place to place. Some days are good.
