Jai Maa Durga General Stores is situated near the Tulsi Mandir in Agamkuan, Gulzarbagh. Being in Patna, especially in a place like Agamkuan, means we are surrounded by a lot of activity and people visiting the temple. Our store is a place where locals can get their everyday essentials. We have a mix of items, from puja supplies to household goods like tea, biscuits, and cleaning products. The shop isn't very big, but we try to keep it organized so people can see what we have. It’s a family-run kind of place. We take turns sitting at the counter. Sometimes the kids are around helping out after their school is done. We don't have any big goals of expanding or becoming a supermarket. We just like serving the people who live in this part of Gulzarbagh. The Tulsi Mandir landmark makes it easy for anyone to find us. In the evenings, when the temple is busy, we get a lot of foot traffic. We handle everything ourselves, from ordering the stock to cleaning the floor. It’s a lot of work but it feels right. We’ve known some of our customers for decades. They’ve seen us grow and we’ve seen their families grow. It’s more than just a business for us; it’s our life in Patna. We don’t use any fancy talk, just plain and simple service for the neighborhood.
