Indian Railway

Our office is on the first floor over at 1/25 Vivekanand Marg. If you know the North S.K. Puri area in Patna, we’re pretty easy to find. It’s a busy street, especially during the morning rush when everyone is trying to get to work. Being part of the Indian Railway means there is always something going on. This specific spot handles a lot of the administrative side of things. It’s not a train station, so don't come here expecting to catch a ride to Delhi. We deal with a lot of files and coordination between different departments. The stairs up to the first floor are a bit narrow, and it can get a little warm in the summer months if the fans aren't blowing just right. We’ve got a small team here. Most of us have been working for the railways for decades. You see a lot of the same faces every day. There’s a tea stall nearby where we usually take our breaks. The office itself is filled with metal cabinets and stacks of ledgers. It feels like a proper government office from the old days. We just focus on keeping the records straight and making sure the information gets passed along to the right people. It's a steady job in a noisy, lively part of Patna. We do what needs doing to keep the system moving through the state.
