Hindustan Construction Co Ltd

This is the Darbhanga branch of Hindustan Construction Co Ltd. We are staying at Mr. Pratul Kumar’s place in Shubhankarpur. It’s a local setup because we find it easier to work directly in the community like this. Atul Kumar handles a lot of the day-to-day things here. Being in Bihar, you have to be ready for all sorts of weather and sometimes the roads aren't the best, but we manage. We aren't in a big glass building; it is a more personal, home-based office. It makes talking to people easier. We work on various construction jobs around the district and use this as our main base for planning. There is usually tea on the stove and some papers on the table. We don't have a big marketing department or anything. People just find out about us through word of mouth or by seeing the work we do. It’s a quiet spot in Shubhankarpur, which is nice after a long day on a dusty construction site. We focus on getting the tasks done and keeping our equipment in good shape. It’s been an interesting time setting things up here. We know the neighbors and they know what we do. It’s just a honest way to run a business without all the extra fluff you see in the cities. We've been here for a while and feel like part of the local scenery now, which helps when we need to get things moving.
