Hari Om Kirana

We've been here at Hari Om Kirana for a while now. The shop sits right on Karkarbagh Main Road, not too far from Chandmari Road. It gets busy during the mornings when people are heading out. Patna is a crowded place, especially around Kankarbagh. We just open up the shutters every day and start arranging the sacks. It's a simple setup. My family helps out when things get hectic. Most of the people coming in are neighbors we've known for years. They stop by for a bit of salt or some lentils on their way home. The dust from the road gets inside sometimes, so we spend a lot of time wiping down the shelves. There isn't much to say other than we keep the basic stuff people need. Sometimes the traffic outside makes it hard to hear customers, but we manage. We aren't a big supermarket. Just a small spot near the intersection where you can pick up your groceries without much fuss. The lights inside are a bit dim, but they work fine. We usually stay open until the sun goes down. It’s mostly just about keeping the stock full and making sure the change is ready. Being near Chandmari Road means we see a lot of faces passing through. We just try to stay organized. That's about it. Life in Patna is fast, but our corner on Karkarbagh Main Road stays pretty steady. We just take it one day at a time.
