In Visakhapatnam, Gannon Dunkerley & Co. Ltd. is situated in Pedda Waltair. We are in Flat Number 2 at the Sampath Vinayaka Nivas. A good landmark for us is the Visakha Eye Hospital, which is just on the other side of our building. Being near the coast means the air is always a bit salty and the humidity is high. We have a decent setup here for managing our work in Andhra Pradesh. The office has a lot of windows, but we usually keep the curtains drawn to keep the heat out. We spend a lot of our time coordinating with the port and the local construction sites. It’s a busy city, but our little corner in Pedda Waltair is relatively quiet. We have a small team of engineers and clerks who handle the daily grind. We don't have a big corporate lobby with a receptionist. You just walk in and someone will be there at a desk with a lot of papers. We keep things straightforward. If there’s a delay with a shipment, we’re on the phone immediately to fix it. We don't believe in long, drawn-out meetings. We just talk about what needs to happen today and then we go out and do it. It’s a good place to work, especially with the sea breeze coming in sometimes.
